Behavioral health also known as mental health or emotional health, is the psychological, emotional, and social well-being of a person. Your mental health affects your thoughts, behavior and how you communicate.
Medication management is a mental health service focused on prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications to support your treatment goals. At MIU Center, a licensed psychiatric provider carefully evaluates your symptoms, medical history, and response to medication to ensure treatment is safe, effective, and personalized.
Appointments may include medication initiation, dosage adjustments, side-effect monitoring, and ongoing follow-up. Medication management can be provided on its own or in combination with therapy and other treatment options, depending on your needs.Your initial appointment (intake) is typically 60 minutes. This allows your provider time to thoroughly review your concerns, medical and mental health history, and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments are usually 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your needs and the type of care being provided.
MIU Center accepts most major insurance plans. However, coverage for behavioral health services varies by plan. We recommend reviewing your specific insurance benefits or contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm coverage details.
Our team is also happy to assist with general insurance questions prior to your appointment.
Appointment availability varies by provider and service type. We strive to offer timely access to care, and many patients are able to schedule an appointment within the same week, depending on provider availability and the type of service needed. Our team works closely with you to find the earliest appointment that fits your schedule.
Please contact our office or fill out the intake form to get started.
